Toyota Vietnam has launched an aggressive "stimulus" campaign for its D-segment sedan, marking a bold move to boost sales in the final quarter of the year.

November marks a significant price drop for the Toyota Camry, with dealerships offering direct discounts of up to $5,700. Compared to last month, the D-segment sedan’s price has plummeted by an additional $2,000, reaching its lowest point since the launch of the latest model.

The discount equates to 100% of the registration fee (standardized at 10%). Specifically, the Toyota Camry 2.0Q is reduced by $4,600 to $41,500, the HEV Mid by $5,500 to $49,800, and the HEV Top by $5,800 to $52,000. Beyond cash discounts, some dealerships are also offering additional accessories to buyers during this period.

In the D-segment sedan category, the Toyota Camry faces minimal competition. This niche market has seen declining sales trends. In September, the Camry sold only 78 units but still led the segment. Over the first nine months, the model achieved 1,609 sales, averaging approximately 189 units per month.

Compared to 2024 (with over 1,300 sales), the Camry’s nine-month performance has surpassed expectations. However, since 2022, sales have sharply declined. Previously, the Camry consistently sold between 4,000 and 5,000 units annually, making it a reliable revenue generator for Toyota, despite not being a top seller.

Dealerships’ aggressive discounts, covering 100% of the registration fee, are clearly aimed at boosting the Camry’s year-end sales figures.

Post-discount, the Toyota Camry will compete more effectively with its few remaining rivals, such as the Honda Accord (priced above $49,000) and the Kia K5 (priced between $32,000 and $36,000).
