Last weekend, VinFast was honored with two prestigious awards at the CNN Indonesia Awards 2025: “Outstanding Innovation in Sustainable Electric Transportation” and “Notable Contribution to Independent Energy Development.”

According to CNN Indonesia, these accolades recognize VinFast’s remarkable efforts in delivering eco-friendly, affordable, and sustainable mobility solutions tailored for the Indonesian population. The Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer has been credited with significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels while fostering green economic growth and energy independence.

VinFast’s Subang, West Java, manufacturing facility is nearing completion and will soon commence operations. Electric taxis produced by VinFast—part of Green SM’s (a GSM subsidiary) fleet—have become a common sight in Jakarta and are set to expand to other regions.

CNN Indonesia highlights that VinFast has not only introduced electric vehicle technology to Indonesia but also pioneered a new business model that enhances accessibility to green transportation. The network particularly commends the battery subscription program for the VF 3 model, which allows consumers to own electric vehicles at a reasonable cost while enjoying free maintenance, repairs, and battery replacements if charging capacity drops below 70%.

This initiative, as noted by CNN Indonesia, broadens access to electric vehicles for the middle class and encourages local businesses to innovate in renewable energy.

“With a vision to create a sustainable future for all, the company continuously innovates to provide environmentally friendly and more accessible electric vehicles for the community,” CNN Indonesia remarked.

The CNN Indonesia Awards is an annual, prestigious event organized by Indonesia’s leading news channel. It serves as a platform to honor individuals and organizations making significant contributions to Indonesia’s development, setting benchmarks for inspiration. Since its inception in 2018, the awards have garnered attention from leaders, major corporations, and the Indonesian media, becoming a trusted measure of positive national impact.
