Kinh Bac City Development Shareholding Corporation (HOSE: KBC) announced a signing ceremony held on October 28th in London, UK. The agreement outlines a collaborative effort among the three parties to initiate the project’s first phase, with plans to expand to other locations nationwide in subsequent stages.
Funding for the venture will be sourced from equity capital and commercial loans, with equity contributions from KBC, AIC, and strategic partners. VietinBank will serve as the financial partner, providing project finance advisory services and capital mobilization.
According to KBC, the project, named SGI-HCM Campus, derives its acronym “SGI” from Saigon Invest Group, an industrial zone (IZ) infrastructure investment conglomerate of which KBC is a key member. The 10-hectare complex will be located in Tan Phu Trung Industrial Zone (Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City), an area designated for high-tech enterprises and digital infrastructure services.
The data center aims to achieve a 200MW IT load capacity and support 100,000 GPUs within the next few years.
AIC, a London and Hong Kong-based investment platform specializing in data center development, boasts a portfolio exceeding $20 billion. AIC aims to collaborate with KBC and stakeholders to establish a network of hyperscale and neocloud data centers, addressing the region’s growing demand for cloud computing and AI solutions.
Mr. Dang Thanh Tam, Chairman of KBC’s Board of Directors, stated that the data center is a critical component in enhancing the value chain of industrial zones.
