The Department of Statistics (Ministry of Finance) has released the Socio-Economic Report for October and the first ten months of 2025.
Regarding business registrations, in October 2025, nearly 18,000 new enterprises were established nationwide, with a registered capital of VND 172.5 trillion and 93,600 registered employees. This marks a 6.8% increase in the number of businesses, a 4.1% rise in registered capital, and a 3.5% decrease in registered labor compared to September 2025. Compared to the same period in 2024, there was a 26.5% increase in the number of businesses, a 12.3% increase in registered capital, and a 16.3% increase in labor.
The average registered capital per newly established enterprise in October 2025 was VND 9.6 billion, down 2.6% from the previous month and 11.2% from the same period last year.
Additionally, 11,600 businesses resumed operations, a 7.9% increase from the previous month and a 33.9% increase from the same period in 2024.
In October 2025, 6,065 businesses registered for temporary suspension, up 32.9% from the previous month and 11.2% from the same period in 2024; 6,771 businesses ceased operations pending dissolution procedures, up 9.9% and 24.8%; and 4,536 businesses completed dissolution procedures, up 8.5% and 128.3%.

In the first ten months of 2025, 162,900 new businesses were registered nationwide, with a total registered capital of VND 1,592.7 trillion and 967,600 registered employees. This represents a 19.7% increase in the number of businesses, a 21.4% increase in registered capital, and an 18.6% increase in labor compared to the same period last year.
The average registered capital per newly established enterprise in the first ten months of 2025 was VND 9.8 billion, up 1.4% from the same period in 2024.
The total additional capital injected into the economy in the first ten months of 2025 was VND 5.2 trillion, a 98.2% increase from the same period in 2024.
Furthermore, 92,900 businesses resumed operations (up 40.3% from the same period in 2024), bringing the total number of newly established and resumed businesses in the first ten months of 2025 to 255,900, a 26.5% increase from the same period in 2024. On average, 25,600 businesses were established or resumed operations each month.
By economic sector, in the first ten months of 2025, 1,534 new businesses were established in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, up 11.7% from the same period last year; 36,600 in industry and construction, up 16.0%; and 124,800 in services, up 21.0%.
In the first ten months of 2025, 105,400 businesses temporarily suspended operations, up 14.4% from the same period last year; 58,400 ceased operations pending dissolution procedures, down 8.3%; and 26,800 completed dissolution procedures, up 54.5%. On average, 19,100 businesses exited the market each month.
Vietnam Attracts Over $31.5 Billion in FDI in the First 10 Months of 2025
According to the General Statistics Office, as of October 31, 2025, Vietnam’s total registered foreign direct investment (FDI) reached $31.52 billion, reflecting newly registered capital, adjusted capital, and foreign investors’ contributions and share purchases. This figure represents a 15.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
Over 4,000 New Real Estate Businesses Established in the First Nine Months of 2025
In September 2025, Vietnam witnessed the establishment of 16,800 new businesses, with a registered capital of VND 165.7 trillion and 97,000 registered employees, according to the Socio-Economic Report for Q3 and the first 9 months of the year. Compared to August, this represents a 17.9% decrease in the number of new businesses, a 49.2% drop in registered capital, and a 9.3% decline in registered labor. However, when compared to the same period last year, there was a significant growth of 49.8% in new business formations, a 78.6% increase in registered capital, and a 53.9% rise in registered labor.
