Amata Proposes 3,800-Hectare Industrial Park Investment in Ho Chi Minh City

Amata Corporation (Thailand) is proposing to invest in a large-scale industrial, urban, and service complex spanning over 3,800 hectares in Ho Chi Minh City, with a minimum investment of $180 million.

On the afternoon of November 3rd, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, received H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, along with the leadership delegation from Thailand’s Amata Corporation.

During the meeting, Mr. Vikrom Kromadit, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Amata Corporation, expressed interest in collaborating with the city’s government in the high-tech sector.

The corporation proposed a feasibility study for a large-scale industrial-urban-service project spanning over 3,800 hectares in Chau Duc District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. With a minimum investment of 180 million USD, the project focuses on high-tech industries, logistics, and smart urban development.

“We have partnered with a Japanese firm to finalize the master plan and feasibility report. Pending Ho Chi Minh City’s approval, Amata is ready to present detailed plans and commence the project immediately,” stated an Amata representative.

The city’s leader highlighted that the merger of Ho Chi Minh City with Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provinces has created a vast international cooperation hub, forming the largest urban-industrial-port region in Vietnam with significant regional influence.

City officials pledged continued support for Thai businesses, facilitating investments in sustainable sectors such as digital economy, green economy, and circular economy. They also encouraged joint trade promotion activities and the development of food supply chains.

According to the Ambassador, several Thai corporations are keen to expand partnerships with Ho Chi Minh City in aviation, tourism, petrochemical refining, and cultural exchanges.

City leadership assured they would review and support Amata and other Thai enterprises in scaling up their investments.

Founded in 1989, Amata specializes in industrial real estate and smart city development. Since entering Vietnam in 1994, the corporation has launched seven industrial and urban projects through Amata Vietnam (established in 2012), totaling 860 million USD in investments.
