Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) issued a directive to relevant units to proactively prevent, avoid, and respond to Typhoon Kalmaegi (No. 13), ensuring the safety of flight operations, personnel, and property at airports, while minimizing negative impacts on flight schedules.

Airports are instructed to inspect port infrastructure systems, communication systems, and more, to promptly detect and address any damages, ensuring the safety of structures, stations, and airport operations.

Additionally, measures to prevent rain, storms, and flooding are to be implemented, along with ensuring proper drainage within airport premises to protect structures, vehicles, and equipment, thereby minimizing storm-related damages and swiftly restoring all aviation activities to serve passenger needs.

Furthermore, close monitoring of Typhoon Kalmaegi’s developments is required to adjust flight plans or schedules as needed, ensuring flight safety. Regular updates on meteorological information from relevant aviation meteorological agencies should be obtained, and necessary response actions should be taken based on actual conditions to minimize operational impacts, safeguard flight safety, and protect personnel and assets from natural disasters.
