In 2005, the Hai Phong City People’s Committee allocated over 78.5 hectares in Zone 3, Van Huong Ward (now Do Son Ward) to Hon Dau International Tourism Joint Stock Company for the development of Hon Dau International Tourism Area (Hon Dau Resort).

Over the years, the investor has undertaken sea embankment, land reclamation, and site preparation for the tourism and resort project, with an investment capital of trillions of dong. The project was expected to transform the face of Do Son tourism.

Several entertainment, pool, and resort facilities have been put into operation, but many construction items remain unfinished.

A high-rise hotel located in the center of Hon Dau Resort has been abandoned for many years. This prime location offers stunning views of Do Son Beach, Hon Dau Island, and Cat Ba Island.

The high-rise structure has completed its rough construction but remains unfinished and abandoned for years.

Numerous construction items are yet to be completed.

Access to the site is blocked by wooden fences, with construction materials scattered around.

The hotel lobby has become a storage area for old ships and yachts.

Outside, many construction materials and auxiliary items are piled up, damaged, and rusted.

The hotel grounds are overgrown with weeds, serving as a grazing area for livestock.

Next to the abandoned 7-story hotel is another massive 4-story structure, also left unfinished for years. Despite the resort’s operational facilities, these grand buildings remain unused, impacting the landscape and risking tourism resource waste.
