On November 5th, the Da Nang City Police announced the successful dismantling of a network illegally exploiting network information to commit unlawful activities.
Earlier, at around 10 a.m. on November 4th, the Investigative Police Agency’s office collaborated with the Cyber Security Department and other specialized units to raid the headquarters of Vietbot Company (located at 53 Bau Gia Thuong 2, Cam Le District).
At the scene, authorities apprehended 26 individuals led by Dao Xuan Hoang (born in 1993, residing in Dak Lak Province).

The syndicate’s modus operandi involved using unauthorized servers, computer equipment, and unregistered SIM cards to generate numerous fake social media accounts on platforms like Telegram, Viber, Tinder, and Zalo.
These accounts were then leased to individuals engaged in online fraud and gambling operations.
During the search of two rented properties, authorities uncovered a massive “fake account farm.” In addition to the 26 computers and 26 CPUs operated by employees, the central control room contained:
78 CPUs
169 login devices
2,000 mobile phones
All devices were interconnected and continuously operated to maintain the fake accounts.

Preliminary data extraction by the Cyber Security Department revealed that most of the social media accounts leased by Hoang’s group were provided to fraudsters operating in Cambodia.
The illegal operation generated an estimated monthly revenue of 2 billion VND for Vietbot Company.
The Da Nang City Police emphasized that this operation demonstrates Vietnam’s commitment to the “Hanoi Convention” on international cooperation in combating cybercrime.
Authorities are currently extracting data from electronic devices and investigating the criminal activities of the suspects for prosecution under the law.
