Typhoon No. 13 Directly Impacts 8 Airports, Causing Widespread Flight Delays and Cancellations

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has issued an urgent directive, requiring all relevant agencies and units to maintain 24/7 operations and strictly adhere to the Typhoon and Tropical Depression Response Procedures in civil aviation. According to the directive, airports expected to be directly impacted by Typhoon Kalmaegi (Typhoon No. 13) include: Da Nang, Phu Bai, Lien Khuong, Chu Lai, Phu Cat, Tuy Hoa, Pleiku, and Buon Ma Thuot. Airports such as Cam Ranh and Dong Hoi are advised to stay updated and prepare for any unexpected changes in the storm’s path.

Vietnam Airlines has announced adjustments to its flight schedules on November 6th and 7th due to the impact of Typhoon Kalmaegi on central region airports. Specifically, flights between Tan Son Nhat Airport and Phu Cat Airport (Gia Lai), including VN1390, VN1391, VN1394, and VN1395 on November 6th, and VN1392, VN1393 on November 7th, will be canceled. Flights VN1622 and VN1623 between Noi Bai Airport and Phu Cat Airport on November 6th will be rescheduled to depart before 12 PM.

On the route between Tan Son Nhat Airport and Chu Lai Airport (Da Nang), flights VN1464, VN1465, VN1468, and VN1469 on November 6th will operate before 12 PM. Flights VN1640 and VN1641 between Noi Bai Airport and Chu Lai Airport on November 7th will be delayed until after 10 AM.

On November 6th, flights VN1650 and VN1651 between Noi Bai Airport and Tuy Hoa Airport (Dak Lak) will not operate. On November 7th, flights VN1650, VN1651, VN1660, and VN1661 between Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, and Tuy Hoa Airports will operate after 12 PM.

Additionally, Vietnam Airlines will reschedule flights VN1422 and VN1423 between Tan Son Nhat Airport and Pleiku Airport (Gia Lai) on November 6th to depart before 12 PM. Flights VN1614 and VN1615 between Noi Bai Airport and Pleiku Airport on November 7th will be delayed until after 1 PM.

Flights VN1414, VN1415, VN1910, and VN1911 on November 6th between Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, and Buon Ma Thuot Airports (Dak Lak) will operate after 11 AM. Flights VN1602 and VN1603 between Noi Bai Airport and Buon Ma Thuot Airport on November 7th will be rescheduled to depart after 1 PM.

Flights VN1548, VN1549, VN1376, and VN1377 on November 6th between Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, and Phu Bai Airports (Hue) will operate after 12 PM. Flights VN1366 and VN1367 between Tan Son Nhat Airport and Phu Bai Airport on November 7th will operate after 1 PM.

Vasco Airlines will also cancel flights 0V8024 and 0V8025 between Tan Son Nhat Airport and Lien Khuong Airport (Lam Dong) on November 6th.

Due to these schedule adjustments to ensure flight safety, over 50 other flights by the airline on November 6th and 7th will be affected.

Many flights operated by Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and Vasco) to and from central region airports on November 7th will be closely monitored and adjusted based on real-time weather conditions to ensure absolute safety for passengers and flights.

Vietnam Airlines will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates in subsequent bulletins. Changes due to adverse weather will be announced on the airline’s fanpage, website, or via text messages and emails to customers who have made bookings.
