6 Airports Halt Flight Operations Starting This Afternoon

Specific Airports and Closure Times:

Phù Cát Airport: Closed from 2 PM on November 6 to 1 AM on November 7, 2025.

Chu Lai Airport: Closed from 7 PM on November 6 to 3 AM on November 7, 2025.

Tuy Hòa Airport: Closed from 3 PM on November 6 to 8 PM on November 6, 2025.

Pleiku Airport: Closed from 8 PM on November 6 to 4 AM on November 7, 2025.

Buôn Ma Thuột Airport: Closed from 7 PM on November 6 to 4 AM on November 7, 2025.

Liên Khương International Airport: Closed from 7 PM on November 6 to 12 AM on November 7, 2025.

Previously, the Vietnam Aviation Authority issued a directive to relevant units to proactively prevent and respond to Typhoon Kalmaegi (No. 13), ensuring the safety of flight operations, personnel, and assets at airports, while minimizing negative impacts on flight schedules.

Airports are inspecting infrastructure, communication systems, and promptly addressing any damages to ensure the safety of facilities and flight operations.

Additionally, measures are being implemented to prevent flooding, ensure drainage, and protect airport facilities, equipment, and assets from storm damage, with the goal of minimizing losses and swiftly restoring aviation operations to serve passenger needs.

Authorities are closely monitoring Typhoon Kalmaegi’s progress to adjust flight schedules as needed, ensuring safety. They are also updating meteorological information and taking necessary actions to reduce operational disruptions, safeguard assets, and protect personnel during the storm.

Numerous Flight Cancellations and Delays

Vietnam Airlines announced adjustments to flight schedules at multiple airports on November 6 and 7.

Specifically, flights between Tan Son Nhat Airport and Phu Cat Airport (Gia Lai), including VN1390, VN1391, VN1394, VN1395 on November 6, and VN1392, VN1393 on November 7, will be canceled. Flights VN1622 and VN1623 between Noi Bai Airport and Phu Cat Airport on November 6 will depart before 12 PM.

On the Tan Son Nhat to Chu Lai (Da Nang) route, flights VN1464, VN1465, VN1468, and VN1469 on November 6 will depart before 12 PM. Flights VN1640 and VN1641 between Noi Bai and Chu Lai on November 7 will depart after 10 AM.

Notably, on November 6, flights VN1650 and VN1651 between Noi Bai and Tuy Hoa (Dak Lak) will not operate. On November 7, flights VN1650, VN1651, VN1660, and VN1661 between Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, and Tuy Hoa will depart after 12 PM.

Vietnam Airlines will also adjust the departure times of flights VN1422 and VN1423 between Tan Son Nhat and Pleiku (Gia Lai) on November 6 to before 12 PM. Flights VN1614 and VN1615 between Noi Bai and Pleiku on November 7 will depart after 1 PM.

Flights VN1414, VN1415, VN1910, and VN1911 on November 6 between Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, and Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak) will depart after 11 AM. Flights VN1602 and VN1603 between Noi Bai and Buon Ma Thuot on November 7 will depart after 1 PM.

Flights VN1548, VN1549, VN1376, and VN1377 on November 6 between Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, and Phu Bai (Hue) will depart after 12 PM. Flights VN1366 and VN1367 between Tan Son Nhat and Phu Bai on November 7 will depart after 1 PM.

Vasco Airlines will also cancel flights 0V8024 and 0V8025 between Tan Son Nhat and Lien Khuong Airport (Lam Dong) on November 6.

“Due to schedule adjustments to ensure flight safety, over 50 other flights on November 6 and 7 have been affected,” stated a Vietnam Airlines representative.

Similarly, Vietjet announced on Facebook that flights to and from Da Lat, Tuy Hoa, Quy Nhon, and Chu Lai on November 6 will be rescheduled.

Specifically, the following flights will be suspended: VJ729, VJ728 (Da Nang – Da Lat), VJ362, VJ363 (Ho Chi Minh City – Da Lat), VJ409, VJ410 (Hanoi – Da Lat), VJ206, VJ207 (Ho Chi Minh City – Tuy Hoa), VJ433, VJ432 (Hanoi – Quy Nhon), VJ384, VJ385 (Ho Chi Minh City – Quy Nhon), VJ376, VJ377 (Ho Chi Minh City – Chu Lai).

Departure times for flights VJ715 and VJ714 (Thanh Hoa – Da Lat) will also be adjusted.

Airlines advise passengers traveling to and from Da Nang, Phu Bai, Lien Khuong, Chu Lai, Phu Cat, Tuy Hoa, Pleiku, Buon Ma Thuot, Cam Ranh, and Dong Hoi during this period to check flight schedules and weather conditions before heading to the airport. Some flights may be suspended or rescheduled due to the storm.
