The Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway project, spanning 60 kilometers, boasts a total investment of nearly VND 8.5 trillion. To facilitate construction, Dong Nai province has initiated the reclamation of approximately 312 hectares of land across several communes: Dau Giay, Gia Kiem, Binh Loc, Dinh Quan, Xuan Bac, Tan Phu, Nam Cat Tien, Phu Hoa, and Phu Lam.
This expressway, exceeding 60 kilometers in length, begins at its intersection with National Highway 1, coinciding with the endpoint of the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway in Dau Giay commune, Dong Nai province. It concludes beyond the intersection with National Highway 20 in Phu Lam commune, Dong Nai province. Construction commenced in August 2025.
The project is executed by a consortium comprising Truong Hai – Son Hai Infrastructure Development, which includes Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Corporation and Son Hai Group Company Limited.
To support the project’s construction, Dong Nai province has initiated the reclamation of approximately 312 hectares of land across the aforementioned communes.
Following the Provincial People’s Committee’s directive, the Dong Nai Land Fund Development Center delegated the task of compensation and site clearance to its branches in Thong Nhat, Dinh Quan, and Xuan Loc districts. These branches are collaborating with local authorities in the affected areas to implement the project.
The 22-kilometer segment traversing Phu Hoa, Tan Phu, and Phu Lam communes has been assigned to the Project Management Unit of Zone 11 for coordinated execution.
In September 2025, the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee announced the plan for compensation and site clearance for the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway project.
The committee mandated that by the end of October 2025, 40% of the project area must be handed over. By the end of 2025, this figure should reach 80%, with the entire area to be handed over by the first quarter of 2026.
The Dong Nai Land Fund Development Center reported that several units have completed land measurement, mapping, and land reclamation notices. The process of inventory, land origin verification, and resettlement is underway.
Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, Ho Van Ha, acknowledged the project’s national and transportation sector significance but noted the slow progress in site clearance.
To expedite compensation and site clearance, the Land Fund Development Center proposed that the Department of Agriculture and Environment directs the Land Registration Office to collaborate with measurement units and the Dinh Quan Land Fund Development Center branch. This collaboration aims to verify land reclamation maps, issue notices, and conduct inventories as per regulations.
Additionally, a review and consensus on compensation and support for land areas belonging to households with protected forest land origins and La Nga Sugar Joint Stock Company are necessary.
The center also recommended that the Provincial People’s Committee instruct local authorities to establish steering committees and allocate personnel for coordinated project implementation.
The Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway, the initial segment of the Dau Giay – Lien Khuong Expressway, is a national key transportation infrastructure project with a total investment of nearly VND 8.5 trillion.
Designed to expressway standards, it features a design speed of 100 km/h, four lanes, and a completed road width of 24.75 meters. It includes auxiliary facilities such as an electronic toll collection system, control center, lighting system, and intelligent transportation surveillance system (ITS).
In the first phase, the expressway will have a road width of 17 meters, with specific sections like weak soil areas, embankments, interchanges, emergency stops, and bridges constructed to the completed road width of 24.75 meters.
Upon completion, the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway will significantly reduce travel time, alleviate pressure on National Highway 20, and enhance the road network. It will foster improved connectivity between Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast region, and the Central Highlands.
