Nha Trang Emerges as a Premier Destination for Leisure and Investment
In June 2025, the Nha Trang Sea Festival attracted over 667,000 visitors in just four peak days, with nearly 290,000 overnight stays. The event showcased a vibrant ecosystem of modern tourism, featuring everything from water sports to art, cuisine, night markets, and illuminated streets.
Notably, the Nha Trang Tourism Association has launched a tourism stimulus program in collaboration with night flights, effectively utilizing off-peak hours and extending the summer service sector’s operational hours in 2025.
These initiatives reflect efforts to realize the Night Economy Development Plan, introduced by Khanh Hoa Province in 2023, with Nha Trang as its pilot hub. The plan aims to create a diverse, civilized, and culturally rich nighttime service ecosystem, enhancing tourism value and revitalizing urban life.
However, Nha Trang’s night economy activities remain seasonal, concentrated during peak periods. Experts suggest that sustainable growth requires major investors to develop multifunctional urban complexes, catering to year-round living, leisure, work, and entertainment needs. This approach, similar to Phuket (Thailand) or Bali (Indonesia), integrates tourism into urban structures linked with commerce, culture, and creative industries.

Nha Trang seeks major investors to develop multifunctional urban complexes, boosting the night economy.
Recently, Travel and Tour World recognized Khanh Hoa as Vietnam’s “rising star” in tourism, highlighting its rich natural and cultural heritage. The magazine also praised Nha Trang for elevating Vietnam’s global tourism profile.
Infrastructure Revolution: Propelling Nha Trang Toward a “Livable City”
Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW by the Politburo marks a strategic turning point for Khanh Hoa, designating Nha Trang as the core urban center, alongside Van Phong, Cam Lam, and Cam Ranh, to form a dynamic urban axis. This aims to elevate the province to a centrally governed city and a national maritime economic hub.

Integrated infrastructure propels Nha Trang’s rise as an international coastal city.
The Nha Trang Urban Development Program by 2040 aims to establish the city as a leading Southeast Asian tourism, economic, and financial hub, emphasizing balanced and sustainable growth across economic, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions.
With its strong tourism brand, strategic location in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands, and supportive policies, Nha Trang is poised to evolve beyond a resort destination into a world-class coastal metropolis.
This new development framework requires expanded urban spaces, multifunctional districts, strategic transport corridors, and tourism logistics zones. Key projects include the Van Phong – Nha Trang expressway, the expanded Tran Phu – Pham Van Dong coastal road, ring roads, and the Cam Ranh Airport expansion, signaling an “infrastructure revolution.”
In this context, strategic investors and well-planned, sustainable projects are pivotal in reshaping Nha Trang’s urban infrastructure. Transitioning from reliance on natural advantages and seasonal tourism, Nha Trang is now focused on creating new value through innovative development.

Charmora City is central to the province’s urban expansion strategy.
A prime example is Charmora City, developed by Sun Property (a Sun Group subsidiary). Located in Nam Nha Trang, the site of Khanh Hoa’s new administrative center, Charmora City is a 227-hectare project surrounded by the Quan Truong and Tac Rivers. Designed as three functional islands—North, Central, and South—it pioneers the Sponge City model, blending distinct lifestyles with harmonious connectivity and eco-friendly development.
Experts view Sun Group’s involvement as more than an investment—it’s a commitment from an “urban architect” with a proven track record in transforming destinations like Phu Quoc, Da Nang, and Sa Pa into internationally acclaimed hubs through world-class infrastructure, landscapes, and services.

Over a century, Nha Trang has evolved from a coastal village into an international resort destination. Today, beyond its natural allure, Nha Trang must reinforce its strategic role through visionary projects that ensure sustainable, comprehensive growth for the nation.
