The $300 million superyacht Amadea has long faded from the world’s yachting radar. First came the seizure, then legal turmoil in the U.S., followed by auction complications.

Now, as 2025 draws to a close, it seems the new year will usher in a fresh chapter for this 345-foot vessel. Successfully auctioned in September for an undisclosed sum to a mysterious buyer, the new owner is reportedly a member of a billionaire family from the United Arab Emirates.

According to The Moscow Times, the opulent superyacht, once owned by sanctioned Russian Senator Suleiman Kerimov, now belongs to the UAE billionaire family of Hussain Sajwani. Beyond Holdings, a British Virgin Islands-based corporation, is listed as the owner, ultimately controlled by Sajwani’s DAMAC Group.

The wealthy entrepreneur could soon take possession of the Amadea following a secretive bidding process managed by National Maritime Services. Prospective bidders were required to prove a net worth of $500 million and submit a $10 million deposit to participate.

Well-deserved, as the new owner will enjoy this lavish superyacht at a fraction of its original cost. Sajwani ranks among the wealthiest Arabs, with a net worth of $10 billion.

Seized in Fiji in May 2022 and later relocated to San Diego, the Amadea has remained docked and idle for years, yet its splendor endures. This six-deck masterpiece has cost the U.S. government nearly $1 million monthly since 2022.

Maintenance, crew salaries, fuel, and insurance are just a few expenses of this floating mansion. Naturally, these costs will now fall to the new owner.

However, its estimated annual maintenance costs will remain unchanged, unaffected by its reduced market value. The UAE billionaire will need to allocate $20–30 million annually for upkeep.

Among its many features, standout amenities include a deck pool, Jacuzzi, helipad, dual spas, and a private cinema. Its interiors rival the grandest palaces, featuring a grand piano, gold-plated bar, gold-accented elevator, and even a lobster tank.

The opulent cinema boasts a 160-inch screen, D-Box motion seats, and a popcorn machine. Accommodating 16 guests in 8 cabins, it’s serviced by a crew of approximately 36.

According to Marine Traffic, the magnificent motor yacht Amadea remains in San Diego. Soon, it may set sail for the Middle East, seamlessly joining the other luxuries of the UAE billionaire’s empire.
