Mr. Do Van Chien, born in 1962 in Tuyen Quang Province, holds a professional degree as an Agricultural Engineer.
He is a Member of the 13th Politburo (since May 2024), serving as the Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee; and has been a National Assembly Deputy for the 13th, 14th, and 15th terms.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chien has held various positions, including Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tuyen Quang Province; Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee (former); Deputy Minister and Deputy Head of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, later becoming Minister and Head of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs (former).
In April 2021, he assumed the roles of Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. By May 2024, he was elected as a Member of the Politburo by the Party Central Executive Committee.
In October 2024, during the first session of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, he was re-elected with high confidence as the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 10th term.
In February 2025, following the merger and consolidation, Mr. Chien held the positions of Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Central Mass Organizations for the 2020–2025 term.
By November 2025, he was appointed as the Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee.
On November 10, 2025, during the 10th session, the National Assembly elected Mr. Do Van Chien as the Deputy Chairman of the 15th National Assembly.
