In the latest trading session concluding last night and early this morning on November 12th (Vietnam time), Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange experienced a slight decline of 5-9 USD/ton, while Arabica prices on the New York exchange saw a notable increase of 1.28%-1.92%.
Robusta Prices Half of Arabica’s
For the benchmark contracts, Robusta for January 2026 delivery settled at 4,618 USD/ton, down 0.1%, whereas Arabica for December 2025 delivery rose by 180 USD/ton to 9,320 USD/ton.
Currently, Arabica prices are double those of Robusta, a stark contrast to the previous season when both commodities traded at similar levels around 5,000 USD/ton.
Domestic coffee prices today are expected to see minor adjustments from the average of 118,700 VND/kg before the London session commenced.
Yesterday, the highest domestic coffee price was recorded in Dak Lak at 119,000 VND/kg, while in Lam Dong, some farmers sold at 117,600 VND/kg.

Arabica prices are surging
Arabica Shortage Due to Hoarding?
Arabica prices surged as Brazil’s green coffee exports in October 2025 fell to 232,800 tons, a nearly 17% drop compared to the same period last year.
Over the past five years, Brazil has maintained its position as the world’s largest coffee exporter, accounting for approximately 32% of the global market, primarily in Arabica.
While the price surge is good news for producing countries in the short term, it poses long-term risks.
Ethiopia’s Ministry of Agriculture, the world’s fifth-largest coffee exporter with Arabica as its mainstay, has launched a nationwide inspection campaign to address coffee speculation.
The campaign targets suppliers and exporters accused of hoarding stocks to capitalize on rising prices, leading to a supply shortage.
According to the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture, export volumes reached only 75% of the target, while export value increased by 47% due to soaring prices. These figures indicate that Arabica prices have doubled over the past year.
