Secretary Tran Luu Quang urged all agencies and units to accelerate project construction to meet deadlines. He called for proactive collaboration between city departments, local authorities, and the investor throughout the project, expediting administrative procedures and ensuring optimal infrastructure and investment conditions.

He also emphasized strict monitoring of environmental and ecosystem protection commitments, ensuring harmonious economic and natural development aligned with the city’s sustainable growth strategy.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee approved a list of six priority projects under Resolution No. 66.4, including the Can Gio Coastal Tourism Urban Area.

The Can Gio Coastal Tourism Urban Area, located in Can Gio District (Ho Chi Minh City), spans 2,870 hectares. Construction began in April 2025, led by Can Gio Tourism Urban Development JSC (a Vingroup subsidiary). The project is divided into four zones, each with distinct functions. Zone A serves as a tourism and entertainment hub, targeting 6 million visitors annually, while Zone B is a residential center for 75,000 inhabitants.

The project’s reclaimed land covers 1,357 hectares, with a 907-hectare landfilling area elevated to 2.9 meters. A nearly 18-kilometer seawall, standing at least 3 meters tall, protects the development.

A standout feature is the 108-story tower in Zone C (318 hectares) at Hai Dang Cape, envisioned as a commercial, financial, service, and maritime hub for the Can Gio metropolis. Strategically located 50 km from Ho Chi Minh City, 20 km from Vung Tau by sea, and 12 km from Cai Mep – Thi Vai Port (Ba Ria – Vung Tau), it offers significant advantages for tourism and logistics.

Upon completion, the 550-meter-tall tower will be the world’s tallest reclaimed land building, setting a new height record in Vietnam, leading Southeast Asia, and ranking among the global top 10.
