On November 10th, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai Phong City Police Department announced the initiation of legal proceedings, prosecution of suspects, and issuance of arrest warrants for two individuals charged with “Using computer networks, telecommunication networks, and electronic means to commit asset appropriation.”
Previously, through operational activities, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Hai Phong City Police detected a group showing signs of illegal multi-level marketing activities. They utilized advanced technology to appropriate assets by advertising and enticing citizens to invest in a virtual currency system named AGOLD on the website http://agold.tech.
Upon investigation, authorities identified the ringleaders as Nguyen Van Dat (born in 1979, residing in Phuoc Dien 1 village, Dien Tho commune, Khanh Hoa province) and Pham Duc Anh (born in 1977, residing in Group 1, Phuong Liet ward, Hanoi).

Investigations revealed that Nguyen Van Dat and Pham Duc Anh, along with others, established DIGITAL SPACE Vietnam Joint Stock Company (located at 2nd floor, 46, Alley 50, Me Tri Thuong Street, Tu Liem District, Hanoi), with Dat as the CEO.
Since April 2023, Nguyen Van Dat and Pham Duc Anh, along with accomplices, disseminated information that the company was developing the AGOLD system as a global DHT cryptocurrency mining project integrated with Blockchain technology. The accumulated DHT tokens were promised to be listed on international cryptocurrency exchanges, offering high liquidity for conversion into Vietnamese Dong.
They offered investment packages ranging from 3 million to 25 million VND, with varying DHT token rewards. Early investors were promised commission percentages for recruiting subsequent investors.
Through this scheme, the group attracted over 400 investors, amassing approximately 10 billion VND.
However, the invested funds were not directed into any cryptocurrency mining system but were transferred directly into Nguyen Van Dat’s personal accounts. Dat then distributed the funds to accomplices for paying multi-level marketing commissions and for personal use.

The agency urges any victims related to this project to contact Investigator Doan Viet Trung at the Investigation Police Agency of Hai Phong City Police Department via phone number: 0356.731.896, or Officer Nguyen Van Thanh at the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department via phone number: 0966.800.468.
