According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, bilateral trade relations between the two countries have grown rapidly and steadily in recent years, as reported by TTXVN.
In the agricultural sector, the import and export turnover of agricultural products has seen stable growth. Key Vietnamese agricultural commodities such as fruits, seafood, rice, coffee, pepper, and rubber are widely available in the Chinese market. Simultaneously, Vietnamese enterprises import significant amounts of machinery, equipment, technology, materials, fertilizers, and chemicals from China to support agricultural production.
Additionally, China has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding agricultural imports from Vietnam and supporting large-scale, high-quality investments by businesses from both nations.
A representative from the Department of Quality, Processing, and Market Development (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) at the Vietnam-China Trade Promotion Forum highlighted that Vietnam has a population of over 100 million, while China boasts more than 1.4 billion. This demographic reality drives a growing demand for food and agricultural products. Projections indicate that by 2030, the Asia-Pacific region will need to increase agricultural output by at least 30% to meet this demand.
