Designated as one of Vietnam’s five major fishing hubs, Tho Quang Fishing Port in Da Nang has undergone a significant upgrade to meet Type 1 port standards, with a total investment of 250 billion VND.
The second phase of the Tho Quang Fishing Port expansion, managed by Da Nang’s Traffic and Agriculture Project Management Board, commenced in January 2024.
The project aims to elevate Tho Quang Fishing Port to Type 1 status, positioning it as a central fishing hub in Da Nang. It also includes a regional storm shelter and a modern, integrated fisheries logistics system.
Phase 2 includes critical upgrades such as enhancing piers 1 and 3, connecting them to the completed pier 2 from phase 1. The seafood market area has been renovated with improved drainage, waste management, waterproofing, and flooring. Additionally, the boat basin’s retaining wall and internal roads have been upgraded.
A wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 300m³/day has been constructed, equipped with source-level treatment technology to meet QCVN 11:2015/BTNMT standards.
The project also enhances landscaping, greenery, lighting, and auxiliary facilities such as fencing, gates, public restrooms, and a fire safety system.
Upon completion, the port is expected to accommodate 300 vessels with a maximum capacity of 2,000 HP per day, handling up to 100,000 tons of cargo annually.
Scheduled for inauguration on November 13, the port is poised to enhance environmental conditions, modernize fisheries logistics, and become a leading fishing hub in Central Vietnam, integrated with tourism development.
