Unveiled at the 2025 Hanoi Key Industrial Products Fair, the GIO Tano 250 by Thai Hung Corp has captured attention as the first mini electric truck fully developed by Vietnamese engineers. This groundbreaking vehicle marks a significant leap for local enterprises in mastering design, technology, and practical electric vehicle production.
According to Thai Hung Corp, the GIO Tano 250 was researched and manufactured at their electromechanical factory in Hung Yen. Every stage, from technical design and chassis fabrication to control programming, was executed by Vietnamese engineers.

Pham Trung Hung, Head of Product Development, shared that the concept of the mini electric truck was inspired by the real-world needs of individuals and small businesses. “We aimed to create a vehicle that is truly accessible, catering to small businesses, farmers, and local manufacturers, helping them reduce costs and operate efficiently on Vietnam’s roads,” he stated.
The GIO Tano 250 features a compact design, measuring 2.4 m in length, 1 m in width, and 1.65 m in height. It is powered by a 1.2 kW electric motor with a maximum torque of 40 Nm, capable of carrying 250–400 kg and traveling up to 70 km on a single charge. The vehicle is equipped with an automatic electronic braking system and a locally developed control unit by Thai Hung Corp.
Notably, components such as the chassis, seats, steering wheel, and lighting system are ergonomically designed to suit the physique of Vietnamese users. The company aims to achieve a 60–70% localization rate in commercial production, moving towards self-sufficiency in key components rather than relying on imports.

Priced at an estimated 35 million VND, the GIO Tano 250 is poised to become an ideal choice for short-distance transportation in residential areas, workshops, eco-tourism sites, and farms. Thai Hung Corp operates a 15,000 m² factory in Hung Yen, specializing in the production of electric vehicles such as cargo trucks, patrol vehicles, and golf carts.
