VinBus and GSM Launch Vietnam’s First Electric School Bus Service
In a groundbreaking move, GSM and VinBus have unveiled School Bus, Vietnam’s inaugural “specialized electric school bus service.” This innovative service exclusively utilizes VinFast’s 100% electric vehicles and operates on the advanced Xanh SM technology platform. Designed specifically for student transportation, the buses fully comply with the technical and safety standards outlined in the 2024 Road Traffic Order and Safety Law.
The School Bus service features the VinFast EB 6, a compact 19-seater electric bus known for its spacious interior and smooth operation. Each bus is equipped with the Secure to Safe (S2S) monitoring system, which includes cameras at entry/exit points and passenger compartments, GPS tracking, facial recognition attendance, and post-trip cabin inspections to ensure no student is left behind. All journey data is encrypted and shared with schools and operational teams for real-time monitoring and management.

Advanced Safety and Environmental Features of the School Bus
Additionally, the buses are fitted with air quality sensors and purifiers to maintain a healthy environment throughout the journey. VinBus ensures all drivers and supervisors undergo specialized training in safety protocols and child psychology, adhering to the company’s rigorous five-step safety procedure.
According to Mr. Nguyễn Công Nhật, Deputy General Director of Operations at VinBus, safety is the cornerstone of the service’s design and operation.
Initially, the School Bus service will be rolled out at Vinschool campuses in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with plans to expand to other private and international schools by the 2026–2027 academic year. The service will be integrated into the Xanh SM app, enabling parents to track routes and student pick-up/drop-off statuses in real-time, all while adhering to school data privacy regulations.
Beyond regular school routes, School Bus offers flexible group transportation services tailored to diverse needs.
