According to a report on revenue from natural resources and the environment, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) of Ho Chi Minh City announced that in the first 10 months of 2025, they received, evaluated, and submitted 65 project dossiers to the Land Price Appraisal Council. The projected total revenue is 64.2 trillion VND.

By the end of October 2025, the approved total value reached 69.617 trillion VND, surpassing the annual plan and significantly contributing to the local budget. This achievement helps Ho Chi Minh City maintain stable financial growth.

In the city’s central area (the old city), 12 approved projects generated over 58 trillion VND. Notable large-scale projects include the Can Gio Sea-Encroaching Urban Area (27.317 trillion VND), Thu Thiem Eco Smart City (16.190 trillion VND), and the Thu Thiem Observation Tower Complex (5.300 trillion VND).

In the former Binh Duong area, DONRE evaluated and submitted 46 projects, with a total revenue of 7.485 trillion VND. These projects are primarily concentrated in industrial zones, expanded urban areas, and developing industrial-service regions.

In the former Ba Ria – Vung Tau area, 7 projects were approved, totaling 4.116 trillion VND. Most of these projects are in tourism, seaports, and logistics.

Additionally, Ho Chi Minh City resolved 84 long-pending land allocation and land-use conversion dossiers, paving the way for the development of 84,000 apartments and housing over 300,000 residents.

DONRE also reported that the total revenue from natural resources and the environment reached nearly 75.2 trillion VND, a 3.5-fold increase compared to the same period in 2024. As a result, the city’s total budget revenue exceeded 652.5 trillion VND, reaching 115% of the same period and accounting for over 97% of the central government’s target (post-merger, Ho Chi Minh City aims for a budget revenue of approximately 700 trillion VND).
