The investment project for the construction of the road behind ports 3-4-5-6 in the Lach Huyen Port area (Cat Hai Special Zone) was approved by the Hai Phong City People’s Committee in late 2024, with a total investment of over 716 billion VND. The road spans 1,832 meters, has a cross-section of 37 meters, is designed for 6 lanes, and supports a speed of 80 km/h.
The project directly connects the transportation system of the Lach Huyen Port area with the Tan Vu – Lach Huyen road and the city’s overall transportation network. It plays a crucial role in promoting the potential and strengths of the Dinh Vu – Cat Hai Economic Zone, attracting and effectively leveraging investment capital for the city.
The 1,832-meter road includes an 800-meter section with an existing foundation. The joint venture contractors are currently organizing cement-soil pile drilling to treat weak soil and install drainage and technical systems.
Approximately 1,000 meters of seawater area is being reclaimed by the investor and joint venture contractors to create a construction site.
The area designated for reclamation is located along port number 6, connecting to the road behind the deep-water ports of Lach Huyen (ports 1-2-3).
The Management Board of the Investment Project for Transport and Agricultural Infrastructure in Hai Phong reported that the joint venture contractors have mobilized 6 cement-soil drilling machines to treat weak soil in the 800-meter section with an existing foundation.
Simultaneously, efforts are focused on constructing weak soil treatment, drainage, and lighting systems.
The road is designed for a speed of 80 km/h, catering to the traffic volume and cargo transportation needs at ports 3-4-5-6.
According to a report by Tien Phong Newspaper, adjacent to the ongoing project, a port investment company previously constructed a road for cargo transportation. During peak hours, this private road shows signs of congestion, causing difficulties for import-export cargo vehicles.
Upon completion, the road behind the port will feature 6 lanes, meeting the cargo transportation needs of the deep-water ports in Lach Huyen and ensuring efficient connectivity with port and logistics infrastructure.
