On November 7, 2025, the closing ceremony of the Hàm Yên Bridge took place in Hàm Yên Commune, Tuyên Quang Province. This milestone marks the completion of a critical component within the XL24 construction package of the Tuyên Quang – Hà Giang Expressway (Phase 1).

The XL24 package, spearheaded by the Deo Ca Group consortium, is a pivotal segment among the six construction packages (XL19-XL24) of the 77-kilometer Tuyên Quang – Hà Giang Expressway (Phase 1).

Located in Tuyên Quang Province, the Hàm Yên Bridge stands as the largest bridge structure in the project. Constructed using the balanced cantilever casting method by the Deo Ca Group, the bridge has completed its main structures, ensuring timely completion by December 19, as directed by the Prime Minister.

Currently, 340 engineers and workers, along with 120 machines and equipment, are working around the clock. The project has achieved 68% completion, with a value of VND 360 billion out of the total VND 532 billion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lê Đức Tranh, Director of the XL24 Package Management Board, stated, “The XL24 package includes 22 bridges across the 77-kilometer route, requiring seamless coordination and scientific construction planning. Despite numerous challenges, our team has worked tirelessly to accelerate progress. Today’s closing of the Hàm Yên Bridge is a testament to the consortium’s resilience and dedication.”

Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tấn Đông commended the unity and efforts of the engineers, workers, and staff. Their commitment has enabled the project to overcome significant obstacles, including land clearance, complex terrain, and severe weather conditions, while maintaining safety and adhering to the schedule.

“We will continue to collaborate closely with all stakeholders, maximize resources, and enhance construction efficiency to complete the remaining tasks. We are determined to meet the December 19 deadline, ensuring safety and quality. This will contribute to the sustainable development of the region,” Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Đông added.

The closing of the Hàm Yên Bridge is a significant milestone for the XL24 package and the entire Tuyên Quang – Hà Giang Expressway project. It underscores the commitment to meeting deadlines and realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of completing 3,000 kilometers of highways in 2025.

The Tuyên Quang – Hà Giang Expressway is a vital transportation link, serving as an economic, political, and defense corridor. It fulfills the aspirations of the border communities and will create an economic development corridor from the Red River Delta to Tuyên Quang, boosting economic growth and improving livelihoods in the northern midlands and mountainous regions.
