Piaggio Vietnam recently participated in the 9th ASEAN-Italy Economic Relations High-Level Dialogue, held at the Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center from November 12–13. Organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, The European House – Ambrosetti (TEHA), and the Italy-ASEAN Association, in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat and Becamex, the event aimed to strengthen strategic partnerships and expand investment opportunities between the two regions.

The opening ceremony was attended by leaders from Ho Chi Minh City and a high-level Italian delegation, including Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco della Seta, Italian Consul General Alessandra Tognonato, and representatives from Italian trade organizations and business communities in ASEAN. The 2025 theme, “ASEAN-Italy for Growth: Strengthening Knowledge, Sharing Capabilities, Building Future Leaders,” was explored through five sessions focusing on economic cooperation, sustainable development, high technology, and digital transformation.

Established in 2007 with 100% foreign capital, Piaggio Vietnam serves as the Piaggio Group’s production, export, and supply chain hub for the Asia-Pacific region. The Phu Tho factory also houses the Group’s only R&D Center in Asia, responsible for product development and quality assurance across key markets.

Speaking at the event, Gianluca Fiume, CEO of Piaggio Vietnam and Chairman of Piaggio Asia-Pacific, emphasized the Group’s long-term strategy centered around “People” – considered Piaggio’s “fifth brand.” He highlighted that upcoming investments will prioritize talent development and community engagement in ASEAN, blending Italian design excellence and technological innovation to create products embodying the “Made in Italy” ethos.

Over its 18-year journey in Vietnam, Piaggio has become a flagship Italian FDI model, serving as a vital bridge in ASEAN-Italy economic relations. Its participation in this year’s High-Level Dialogue underscores the Group’s commitment to sustainable cooperation between the regions and reinforces Vietnam’s role in Piaggio’s global value chain.

The Piaggio Group employs over 6,600 people globally, distributes products in more than 100 countries, and operates eight manufacturing facilities worldwide, including Vietnam. Its brand portfolio includes Vespa, Piaggio, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Ape, and Piaggio Commercial, alongside Piaggio Fast Forward’s robotics ecosystem in Boston, USA.
