Samsung has announced its November 2025 software update plan, revealing significant news for users of five smartphone models and one tablet. These devices have been removed from the support list, meaning they will no longer receive security patches or feature upgrades.
The Galaxy S20 FE (both 4G and 5G variants) are among the affected devices. This series was once hailed as a breakthrough in the Fan Edition lineup, offering premium experiences at an accessible price point. For five years, the S20 FE enjoyed priority updates, but it has now officially been removed from quarterly support.
After more than five years since its launch, the Galaxy S20 FE has officially reached the end of its software update lifecycle.
The mid-range duo, Galaxy M22 and M52 5G, released in 2021, have also been removed from the bi-annual update list. Both devices have completed their four-year support cycle as per Samsung’s policy, making the end of updates inevitable. The W22 5G, a special variant of the Galaxy Z Fold3 exclusive to the Chinese market, has also reached the end of its update lifecycle.
Additionally, the Galaxy Tab Active3, Samsung’s rugged tablet designed for harsh environments, has concluded its update journey after serving enterprise and specialized work sectors for an extended period.
While these devices remain functional, the cessation of official support means they will no longer receive critical Android security patches. For S20 FE users, the Galaxy S25 FE could be a logical upgrade option. Owners of the W22 5G might consider transitioning to the W26 5G, the world’s thinnest foldable phone recently unveiled by the brand.
