On November 15th, the Hoa Tien Commune Police in Da Nang City, in collaboration with the Commune People’s Committee, conducted a surprise inspection of a processing facility in Phu Son Nam village. The facility is owned by a man residing in Xuan Phu Commune, Da Nang City.

The animal fat processing facility, located deep within a cemetery area.

During the inspection, authorities discovered three individuals directly involved in processing animal fat under unsanitary conditions, posing a risk to food safety.

At the scene, the police found a large quantity of raw and processed fat, including approximately 500 kg of animal fat, 30 bags of raw fat (50 kg each), 80 bags of processed fat, and various production equipment such as grinders, presses, large metal pots, and cooking utensils.

Notably, due to its location within a cemetery and irregular operations, it was challenging to catch the facility’s illegal activities in the act.

Authorities have since seized all violating fat products, destroyed them, and confiscated equipment for further investigation and legal proceedings.
