Vietnam’s Best-Selling Gasoline Cars in October: Top 2 Spots Dominated by One Brand!

Both of Mitsubishi's top-selling models experienced a remarkable surge in October 2025. The Xpander saw its sales nearly double in just one month, while the Xforce reclaimed the top spot in its segment after a three-month hiatus.

According to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) and TC Group, in the ranking of the top 5 best-selling gasoline cars in Vietnam for October 2025, the top two models are both from Mitsubishi.

Specifically, the top 5 best-selling gasoline cars, in order, are: Mitsubishi Xpander (2,644 units), Mitsubishi Xforce (1,854 units), Toyota Yaris Cross (1,833 units), Mazda CX-5 (1,594 units), and Ford Territory (1,429 units).

Notably, 4 out of the 5 models are SUVs/crossovers, with only the Xpander being an MPV. The Xpander’s sales figures are significantly higher than those of its competitors. Remarkably, October marked the highest sales record for the Xpander this year, with sales nearly 1.5 times higher than in September.

The Xpander has consistently been the best-selling model in its segment and has frequently topped the overall gasoline car sales chart. This growth has been further fueled by the latest upgrade and substantial promotional campaigns in recent months, with discounts reaching up to 80 million VND.

In November, Mitsubishi is offering significant incentives for the latest upgrades of the Xpander and Xpander Cross (MY2026), including 100% registration fee support (valued at 66-70 million VND) and one year of comprehensive insurance worth 10 million VND. The lower-tier Xpander MT and AT models also receive 100% registration fee support (valued at 56-60 million VND) and one year of comprehensive insurance worth 8 million VND. The MT variant additionally includes a complimentary reverse camera.

Compared to the previous version, the new Xpander and Xpander Cross (MY2026) feature significant upgrades, including 17-inch alloy wheels with a new design, LED fog lights, a 10-inch center display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, and 6 airbags.

Unlike the Xpander’s smooth dominance, the Xforce’s journey to the top of its segment has been more challenging. After three months in second place, the Xforce has reclaimed the top spot from the Yaris Cross. Despite increasing competition in the B-segment SUV/crossover market, both the Xforce and Yaris Cross have consistently maintained their top positions in segment sales.

Similar to the Xpander, the Xforce has benefited from substantial promotions in recent months. In November, the GLX and Premium variants receive 100% registration fee support, valued at 60-68 million VND. The top-tier Ultimate variant, available in single-tone and dual-tone colors, offers 50% registration fee support (valued at 35-35.5 million VND) and a fuel voucher worth 15-20 million VND, depending on the variant.

Compared to its competitors, the Xforce stands out with its futuristic design, practical interior space, and modern amenities. It also excels in performance, offering four driving modes for different terrains: Normal Road, Waterlogged Road, Gravel Road, and Muddy Road.

With the strong sales performance of the modern Xforce, its larger 7-seater sibling, the Destinator, set to launch in Vietnam in December, is expected to attract significant interest. This new 7-seater SUV features a modern design similar to the Xforce, a wheelbase comparable to many D-segment cars, a 1.5L turbo engine, and advanced ADAS features. Previously launched in Indonesia, the Destinator has received positive feedback.

In addition to MPVs and SUVs/crossovers, Mitsubishi is also offering promotions for its sedan and pickup truck models. The Attrage and Triton receive 50-100% registration fee support depending on the variant, along with gifts worth several million VND. While these models do not have standout sales figures in their segments, they maintain steady monthly sales.
