Shark Việt Acquires 19-Year-Old University, Rebrands as Intracom University

Intracom Group, under the leadership of Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Việt, has successfully acquired this university from Ecopark Corporation.

Intracom Group, led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet, has officially become the sole investor of Chu Van An University following a successful M&A deal with Ecopark Corporation.

Recently, Chu Van An University was renamed Intracom University under Decision No. 2445/QĐ-TTg dated November 5, 2025, by the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister has tasked the Ministry of Education and Training, the People’s Committee of Hung Yen Province, and relevant agencies with guiding and overseeing the renaming process to ensure transparency, prevent corruption, financial loss, and asset mismanagement, and maintain the school’s normal operations while safeguarding the rights and interests of all stakeholders.

According to the university’s official website, Chu Van An University is a private institution established under Decision No. 135/QĐ-TTg dated June 8, 2006, by the Prime Minister. Over 19 years, the university has trained tens of thousands of students, providing high-quality human resources for provinces and cities nationwide.

In August 2021, Ecopark Corporation invested in Chu Van An University and launched an additional campus in the Ecopark Urban Area under the EcoUni brand.

The university’s website confirms that in July 2025, Intracom Group became the sole investor of Chu Van An University following the M&A deal with Ecopark Corporation.

The Acting President of the university is Prof. Dr. Ngo Xuan Binh, former Deputy Director of the Institute of Social Sciences, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; Director of the India and Southwest Asia Research Institute; and Editor-in-Chief of the India and Asia Research Journal.

Intracom Group, established on December 21, 2002, with 100% state-owned capital, operates in real estate development, clean energy, construction materials, construction, and pharmaceuticals. In 2006, the company underwent privatization.

The group’s website highlights over 30 member companies, thousands of employees, and hundreds of investment projects across various sectors, with branches in Singapore and Japan. Intracom Group has completed over 100 projects, serving more than 1 million customers.

Currently chaired by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet, Intracom Group is also known for Mr. Viet’s role as an investor on the Shark Tank Vietnam program, where he has supported numerous startups domestically and internationally, including CDTS, Tokai, Triip, DalatFOODIE, BluSaigon, and Namaste.

The acquisition of Chu Van An University marks Intracom Group’s official expansion into the education sector.
