On November 18th, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police Department (PC08) announced that since its implementation, the AI-powered camera system has detected a total of 5,898 traffic violations.

All violations have been reported to vehicle owners by PC08, requesting cooperation for processing.
The AI cameras primarily capture motorcycle-related offenses, including: running red lights, driving against traffic, lane violations, helmetless riding, and improper parking.
Notably, the AI system can detect multiple violations simultaneously on a single vehicle.
Upon detecting a violation, data is uploaded to the system for Traffic Police review. Within 10 days, a “post-violation” notice is issued to citizens. Receipt time depends on the postal service.
According to PC08, the AI camera system has gradually improved compliance and raised traffic law awareness among road users.
In areas with AI surveillance, previously common violations like running red lights, improper lane usage, and phone use while driving have significantly decreased.
