The visit underscores Maersk’s keen interest in Hateco’s logistics ecosystem development strategy in Vietnam, paving the way for extensive collaboration between the two entities in the near future.

Maersk’s CEO, Vincent Clerc, lauded the remarkable success of the Lach Huyen Port’s Berth No. 5 and No. 6 project in Hai Phong, spearheaded by Hateco as the primary investor.

Mr. Clerc expressed profound admiration for the project’s rapid execution, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and forward-thinking planning. He emphasized that Lach Huyen is progressively emerging as a pivotal link in the international port network. Hateco Hai Phong International Container Port stands as a globally benchmarked facility, excelling not only in berth infrastructure and management technology but also in its ability to integrate supply chains seamlessly. The project’s early completion, surpassing productivity targets, and efficient operations significantly enhance Hai Phong’s clearance capacity, bolster Vietnam’s logistics competitiveness, attract international shipping routes, and foster strong confidence among global shipping lines, with Maersk being a key partner.

Both parties delved into future collaboration opportunities, particularly focusing on joint research and investment in logistics infrastructure projects across Vietnam’s strategic regions.

In 2024, Maersk Group Chairman Robert Maersk Uggla visited and engaged with Hateco.

The successive visits of Maersk Chairman Robert Maersk Uggla in 2024 and CEO Vincent Clerc in 2025 hold significant importance, cementing Hateco’s position as a vital partner for this leading global shipping conglomerate in expanding logistics infrastructure in Vietnam.
