At the “Investment Cooperation Connection Conference in Ca Mau Province,” organized by the People’s Committee of Ca Mau Province, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of T&T Group, announced that the group has explored and proposed investments in three key sectors to drive new growth.
In the transportation infrastructure sector, T&T Group is studying the investment in the Ca Mau – Bac Lieu Expressway, spanning 81.2 km under the PPP model. This project will directly connect to the Ho Chi Minh City – Tien Giang – Soc Trang Expressway, forming a complete coastal expressway axis in the Mekong Delta region. The expressway will expand urban, industrial, logistics, and tourism development spaces, while optimizing the use of existing airport facilities and land resources, creating new growth momentum.
Additionally, T&T Group has proposed developing high-end tourism and service complexes to leverage the strategic location of the islands. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity with the National Tourism Area of Dat Mui, creating a synchronized value chain encompassing seaports, industries, logistics, and tourism.
Furthermore, T&T Group has suggested investing in the development of the Hon Khoai Island Cluster under the City Port model, inspired by successful international seaport hubs like Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Busan (South Korea).
This model includes the construction of the Hon Khoai Deep-Sea Port, capable of accommodating vessels up to 250,000 tons, positioning it as a key economic seaport cluster. It also involves the development of a modern urban area integrated with port, industrial, and logistics zones, transitional areas, and urban development zones.
Notably, Hon Khoai is envisioned to become the “Southernmost Continent,” a dynamic and internationally integrated development hub for the nation, as emphasized by T&T’s Deputy General Director at today’s conference.
In the energy sector, the group is particularly focused on implementing the adjusted Power Plan VIII. Under this plan, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu (former) will develop an additional 33 wind power projects and 2 solar power projects. T&T Group has proposed studying investments in these planned projects.
Mr. Tuan affirmed that T&T’s strategy is to partner with local authorities in developing clean and circular energy, leveraging Ca Mau’s geographical advantage as the closest point to Malaysia and Singapore. This aims to realize the goal of making Ca Mau a leading electricity export hub in the Mekong Delta and Vietnam to the Southeast Asian market.
T&T Group also plans to invest in education, sports, and cultural centers in the former Bac Lieu Province to enhance local human resource quality.
“T&T Group is committed to implementing strategic projects in Ca Mau efficiently and cohesively, contributing to the province’s development vision and creating sustainable value for the community,” Mr. Tuan emphasized.
