Private Enterprises: Partners in Nation-Building
The talk show “Connecting to Soar” from the series “Building the Nation” offers a fresh perspective on the role of private enterprises in national development. They are not merely market participants but also partners alongside the government in creating strategic infrastructure and driving sustainable growth.
Experts and business leaders at the event agreed that a sustainably developed Vietnam should be built on three pillars: flexible institutions, modern infrastructure, and a collaborative business ecosystem.
Regarding the first pillar—flexible institutions—Dr. Lê Đăng Doanh, former Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management, emphasized the government’s role not only in regulation but also in paving the way and partnering with businesses. He stated, “We need to revise the Planning Law and Investment Law to create a clear legal framework, ensuring businesses can invest with long-term confidence.”
For the second pillar—modern infrastructure—Ms. Thi Anh Đào, Marketing Director at Masterise Group, highlighted, “A synchronized system of transportation, urban, and utility infrastructure is the foundation for connecting people, work, and opportunities.”

She noted that infrastructure is not limited to metro lines or ring roads but includes networks connecting economic hubs, residential and work areas, and urban and suburban regions. With this vision, Masterise Group has expanded its role beyond urban development to participate in strategic infrastructure projects.
The third pillar—a collaborative business ecosystem—is considered the “software” of development, prioritizing synergy and partnership. Ms. Đào emphasized, “If Vietnamese businesses collaborate, share resources, and aim for common goals, we can create a soft power to compete regionally and globally.”
According to Ms. Đào, only when the private sector works together can Vietnam establish sustainable ecosystems—the foundation for a self-reliant and resilient economy.
Soaring Through Collective Strength
From the three pillars of flexible institutions, modern infrastructure, and collaborative business ecosystems, it’s clear that Vietnam’s ability to “soar” stems not from isolated efforts but from the collective synergy of the government, businesses, and citizens.
Sustainable development can only be achieved when these three entities share a common vision and act together to turn aspirations into reality.
Dr. Lê Đăng Doanh stressed that in the context of the digital economy opening new borders for cooperation, Vietnamese businesses have more opportunities for cross-border connections. This includes not only domestic partnerships but also collaborations with international partners, research institutions, universities, and global innovation organizations.
This expansion of both developmental space and cooperation depth demonstrates the ability to leverage the collective strength of the public and private sectors, as well as businesses and academia. All efforts are directed toward building a resilient Vietnam ready to “soar” on the global economic stage.
From a business perspective, Ms. Thi Anh Đào believes Vietnam’s “soar” is not just about economic growth speed but also about creating sustainable, far-reaching value. Businesses must become development partners of the nation, not merely profit seekers.
“We believe Vietnamese private enterprises can play a crucial role in the nation-building ecosystem—partnering with the government to lay the foundation for a sustainable future,” shared Ms. Đào.
Ms. Đào emphasized that collaboration, trust, and unity among Vietnamese businesses will create a “soft power,” enabling the domestic economy to surge forward and reach international heights.
In the spirit of “connecting to soar,” every business should align its development strategy with national interests. Masterise Group has embraced this spirit, transitioning from an urban developer to a partner in national infrastructure development, contributing to the vision of a modern, self-reliant, and sustainable Vietnam.
However, for Vietnam to “soar,” it cannot rely on a single “wing” but requires a strong connection between a visionary government, pioneering businesses, and supportive citizens. When businesses prioritize national interests, policies foster innovation, and communities trust the developmental path, Vietnam will truly “soar.”
