According to Mr. Binh, the handover minutes state that the upgraded and expanded Prenn Pass project was officially accepted for management, operation, and use from December 17th, 2024. Thus, the entire route is within the 12-month warranty period.

Based on Notification No. 659/TB-SGTVT dated September 30th, 2024, from the former Lam Dong Department of Transport regarding the completion acceptance results, the Prenn Pass upgrade and expansion project meets technical standards. The project is invested by the Lam Dong Provincial Transport Project Management Board and constructed by the consortium of Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company and Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company.

A large amount of soil, rocks, and road surface washed into the deep abyss below.

The project spans a total length of 7.369km, starting at Km221+680 on National Highway 20 (end of the Lien Khuong – Da Lat expressway) and ending at Km229+049.74 on National Highway 20 (intersection leading to the inter-provincial bus station in Xuan Huong Ward, Da Lat). The project quality is assessed to meet the requirements as per the completion dossier and conclusions from specialized agencies.

During the warranty period, the contractor is responsible for maintenance, repairs, and addressing any arising damages as per the contract and regulations, ensuring traffic safety, especially in an area frequently affected by heavy rains and high landslide risks.

Earlier, at 9 a.m. on November 17th, a landslide occurred on Prenn Pass, specifically from Km224+600 to Km224+700 (approximately 100m), causing the negative slope retaining wall to collapse and half of the road surface from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City to erode.

Upon receiving the information, the Department of Construction collaborated with the People’s Committee of Xuan Huong Ward, Da Lat, the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police), and relevant units to implement traffic diversion, ensuring safety for people and vehicles.

Currently, functional units continue to monitor the pass’s condition to promptly address any emerging issues, ensuring safe traffic flow.
