Vietnam’s export value over the past 10 months has surpassed $60 billion, marking a nearly 13% increase compared to the same period last year. Key commodities continue to solidify their market positions. Coffee has seen a remarkable surge, reaching nearly $7 billion in value—a 61% increase—driven by an average export price of over $5,600 per ton.

Rubber exports have exceeded $2.3 billion, growing by nearly 11%, primarily destined for China. Cashew exports have brought in over $3.7 billion, up by nearly 19%. Despite a decline in volume, pepper exports have seen a 29% value increase due to higher export prices.

Export markets have also shifted significantly, with substantial growth in exports to Europe and Africa. This reflects Vietnam’s efforts to expand its market reach and enhance its agricultural products’ global standing.

Aiming for $100 Billion in Export Value

From sustaining the nation during wartime to nurturing its future in peacetime, Vietnam is now targeting $100 billion in agricultural, forestry, and aquatic exports by 2030. This ambition aligns with the vision of becoming a global agricultural powerhouse rooted in green, eco-friendly, and circular economies.

Rice cultivation has pioneered sustainable practices, producing grains that are not only delicious but also environmentally friendly. The initiative to develop 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice fields, led by enterprises, has unlocked growth potential for the next five years.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the agricultural sector’s growth potential is vast. Investments in raw material infrastructure, cold storage, logistics, electricity, and irrigation, coupled with advanced processing technologies, artificial intelligence, and traceability systems, are key drivers.
