Go Gang Island, nestled within the Gan Rai Bay of Long Son Commune, Ho Chi Minh City, boasts a strategic location ideal for maritime economic development. Surrounded by rivers on three sides and facing the sea, the island enjoys a well-developed waterway network, facilitating efficient connectivity and maritime activities.

Just a 20-minute drive from the bustling tourist hub of Vung Tau, Go Gang Island presents a stark contrast with its marshlands, mangroves, salt fields, and sparse population, offering a secluded and pristine environment.

While Go Gang Island still retains its salt fields, many lie abandoned. Along Truong Sa Street, one can spot numerous vacant, deteriorating houses, adding to the island’s serene and untouched ambiance.

Truong Sa Street, the island’s main thoroughfare, is a modern, six-lane road ensuring seamless connectivity and smooth traffic flow.

Two bridges, Go Gang and Cha Va, along Truong Sa Street, connect the island to Vung Tau’s city center and Long Son Commune. Pictured is the Cha Va Bridge leading to Long Son.

Along the Dinh River, the natural boundary between Go Gang Island and Vung Tau, hundreds of floating fish farms and seafood restaurants thrive, providing a primary livelihood for local residents.

According to the master plan, Go Gang Island is envisioned as a modern urban area harmoniously integrated with its mangrove ecosystem. It will serve as a hub for advanced seafood processing and fisheries logistics, spanning 1,350 hectares with an expected population of 60,000.

The largest area, 532 hectares, is designated for a mangrove ecological park. The airport and related services occupy 250 hectares, while 158.5 hectares are allocated for commercial, service, scientific, and tourism activities.

Additionally, 20 hectares are earmarked for education, training, and scientific research; 30 hectares for an economic, financial, and commercial center; 67 hectares for a gateway service center; and 25.3 hectares for a service hub connecting to Long Son.

Previously, Sun Group proposed dividing the Go Gang Island project into eight zones, including high-rise and low-rise residential areas, along with mixed-use developments catering to residential, commercial, and service needs.
