On November 19th, Dong Anh Urban Environment Joint Stock Company (Stock Code: MDA) announced that Ms. Pham Hong Thu, Head of the Supervisory Board, passed away on July 15th, 2025, in Hanoi.
The company received the news from her family at 7 AM on November 19th, 2025, after a period of unsuccessful attempts to contact her.
Dong Anh Urban Environment Joint Stock Company was established through the equitization of the Dong Anh Urban Environment Enterprise Branch, a subsidiary of Hanoi Urban Environment One-Member LLC.
The company’s core business activities include non-hazardous waste collection, water supply and treatment, wastewater management, non-hazardous waste disposal, pollution control, road freight transport, and cleaning services for buildings and other structures within Dong Anh District, Hanoi.
With a chartered capital of 12 billion VND, the company is chaired by Mr. Nguyen Tien Dong.
In terms of business performance, the company achieved over 82 billion VND in revenue in 2024, a 13% increase compared to the previous year. After-tax profit also rose by 13%, reaching nearly 2.5 billion VND.
Born in 1975, Ms. Pham Hong Thu held a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She was appointed as the Head of the Supervisory Board of MDA in December 2022.
Prior to her role at MDA, Ms. Thu had a long-standing career at Hanoi Urban Environment One-Member LLC, serving in various positions and departments.
Her career began as a probationary employee in the Financial Accounting Department in November 1998, followed by a role as a staff member in the same department from December 1998 to June 2007.
She then transitioned to the Business Department, working as a staff member from July 2007 to September 2014, and later as Deputy Head of the Business Department from October 2015 to April 2016. Subsequently, she served as Deputy Head of the Investment Planning Department from May 2016 to December 2018, and as Deputy Head of the Business and Communications Department from January 2019 to April 2019.
From May 2019 to October 2021, she accompanied her spouse on a diplomatic assignment in Venezuela. Upon her return in November 2021, she assumed the position of Deputy Head of the Financial Accounting Department at Hanoi Urban Environment One-Member LLC.
