First Official Nominee of the “7 Wonders of the Future Cities” Campaign
November 20, 2025 – The Can Gio Coastal Urban Area Project – Vinhomes Green Paradise has been officially recognized as the first nominee of the “7 Wonders of the Future Cities” campaign, initiated by New7Wonders.
Shortly after the official launch on October 31, 2025, 90 applications and nominations from around the world registered for the “7 Wonders of the Future Cities” campaign. Among these, the Can Gio project stands out as the first to be officially recognized by New7Wonders.

According to the ranking criteria, the Vietnamese representative scored highly in three categories: Environment and Nature – Smart City – Human-Centric Design.
In the Environment and Nature category, the Can Gio Coastal Urban Area boasts a rare location, surrounded by the Can Gio Sea and a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve of over 75,000 hectares of mangrove forests. The project spans 2,870 hectares with a 121 km coastline, and a construction density of only 16%.
The remaining area is dedicated to greenery and water bodies, featuring an 800-hectare natural seawater lagoon at its center, creating a unique ecological space found only in the world’s leading coastal megacities.
In the Smart City category, the Can Gio Coastal Urban Area integrates IoT, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for management, operation, and environmental monitoring, creating a modern, safe, and civilized urban space.
In the Human-Centric Design category, the amenities are planned and developed with a people-first philosophy. Residents will enjoy a high-quality lifestyle with comprehensive services meeting international standards, including healthcare, education, eldercare, culture, sports, entertainment, and dining.

The “7 Wonders of the Future Cities” campaign invites people worldwide to identify 7 cities that best embody innovation, creativity, sustainable development, and human progress.
Over the year following its launch, nominees from around the globe will be introduced. The official voting phase begins on October 31, 2026, culminating in the announcement of the 7 Wonders of the Future Cities on October 31, 2027.
The “7 Wonders of the Future Cities” initiative is more than a global discussion to identify new wonders. It is a campaign reflecting the civilizational standards of the 21st century, honoring cities leading in sustainable development, humane technology application, innovation, and creativity, while defining what a “future city” truly is.
