The An Phú Interchange is a large-scale project with a total investment of approximately VND 3.4 trillion, commencing in 2022. It includes an overpass system, underpass tunnels, and ramps directly connecting the HCMC-Long Thành-Dầu Giây Expressway with Mai Chí Thọ and Đồng Văn Cống roads. Expected to alleviate congestion at the eastern gateway during 2025-2026.
Mid-November sees intense construction activity at the An Phú Interchange site in HCMC.
Five overpass ramps are under simultaneous construction: N3 and N4 at the Mai Chí Thọ-Đồng Văn Cống intersection; N2 turning right from the HCMC-Long Thành-Dầu Giây Expressway to Mai Chí Thọ; and N1.1 with N1.3 turning left from Mai Chí Thọ onto the expressway.
At the HCMC-Long Thành Expressway section, Ramp N2 (Package XL11) has completed structural closure, connecting the expressway exit to Mai Chí Thọ Road.
This section has reached nearly 60% completion, with simultaneous work across three fronts.
Ramp N2 is scheduled for technical completion and opening by December 31, 2025.
Ramp N2 (Package XL11) has achieved structural closure, establishing a complete connection from the HCMC-Long Thành Expressway to Mai Chí Thọ Road.
At the Đồng Văn Cống Road connection, piers for Ramps N3 and N4 are being completed in segments.
Along Mai Chí Thọ Road, the HC1-02 tunnel (Package XL6) site has expanded, with the rough structure largely finished. Tunnel sections are visible, and finishing work is underway.
The HC1-02 tunnel (Package XL6) on Mai Chí Thọ Road has completed its rough structure, with tunnel sections clearly visible along the route.
The An Phú Interchange is expected to resolve eastern gateway congestion. However, current progress risks further delays without decisive construction management improvements.
