Japanese Corporate Giants Eye Investment Opportunities in Tay Ninh

Japanese businesses are making significant investments in Tay Ninh, with a total capital of over $1.26 billion, ranking 4th among 40 countries and territories.

On November 21, Tay Ninh Province announced that during their leadership’s working trip to Japan, the delegation has engaged and will continue to engage with numerous organizations and businesses to discuss potential cooperation areas. The aim is to elevate the labor cooperation relationship between Tay Ninh and Japan to new heights.

Highlighting the province’s advantages, Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, Pham Tan Hoa, stated that Tay Ninh serves as the western gateway to Ho Chi Minh City. It is also a direct connection point to the Mekong Delta and a crucial trade corridor with Cambodia. Tay Ninh is accelerating the development of industrial infrastructure, aiming to establish a network of 59 industrial zones and 82 industrial clusters covering over 21,000 hectares by 2030.

Tay Ninh has prepared over 1,000 hectares of cleared land ready to accommodate new projects, demonstrating its commitment to creating a truly competitive and efficient investment environment. This effort aims to foster comprehensive cooperation with Japanese businesses, ensuring mutual benefits for both parties.

Obayashi, a leading Japanese clean energy corporation, expressed interest in collaborating with Tay Ninh to support Japanese businesses in industrial zones transitioning to hydrogen energy—a key technology in the global green development trend.

Toyota Long An and Corolla Fukushima, a strategic distributor of Toyota, signed a memorandum of understanding to expand their investment in Tay Ninh.

Sapporo Brewery praised Tay Ninh for its swift and highly effective support compared to other localities. Toyota Corolla Fukushima also highly appreciated the province’s investment environment and plans to increase investment capital in the Toyota Long An plant located in Tay Ninh. This move is seen as a strategic step to expand their business foundation in Vietnam.

AEON announced the early operation of the AEON Tan An Shopping Center in October 2025, attracting a large number of customers and achieving positive business results for the group. This success has contributed significantly to Tay Ninh’s economy. Based on these promising results, AEON will continue to explore further investment opportunities in Tay Ninh.

During the meetings, Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Van Quyet, expressed gratitude for the support from the Japanese Embassy and the business community. He affirmed the province’s commitment to maintaining a supportive and responsive environment for investors, aiming to establish Tay Ninh as a safe, stable, and sustainable destination for Japanese partners.

Vice Chairman Pham Tan Hoa noted that 176 FDI projects from Japanese companies are currently invested in Tay Ninh, with a total capital of over 1.26 billion USD. This places Japan fourth among 40 countries and territories investing in the province.

Building on this foundation, Tay Ninh seeks to initiate a new wave of comprehensive cooperation with Japanese partners, prioritizing breakthrough fields such as high technology, electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, logistics, digital transformation, high-tech agriculture, and clean energy.
