Recently, the Ministry of Public Security broke ground on a multi-purpose stadium project in Nghia Tru commune, Hung Yen province. Designed to seat 60,000 spectators, the stadium is one and a half times larger than the current largest venue, My Dinh Stadium (40,000 seats). The project is located within a 92-hectare sports and services complex, part of the PVF National Football Training Center.

The project is strategically situated along Provincial Road 379, a vital transportation artery connecting Hung Yen to Thanh Tri Bridge and Ring Road 3, just a 30-minute drive from Hanoi’s city center. Its proximity to major highways such as Hanoi-Hai Phong and Hanoi-Bac Giang ensures seamless regional connectivity. Ongoing infrastructure expansions further enhance accessibility in the area.

Additionally, the project benefits from an evolving transportation network. Once the Ngoc Hoi Bridge is operational, travel from Ring Road 3.5 to Hung Yen will become faster and more convenient. The Me So Bridge, directly linking to Ring Road 4, will reduce travel times and alleviate congestion on existing routes.

The stadium features four enclosed stands, fully equipped with modern facilities including a technical center, security hub, broadcasting operations, press area, player lounges, VIP zones, and premium dining services. This comprehensive setup ensures the venue can host large-scale sports and entertainment events. The project is being executed by Vinhomes JSC (a Vingroup subsidiary) as the general contractor.

PVF Stadium boasts cutting-edge features, most notably its massive steel dome roof with a 373-meter-long, 8,600-ton beam pair and two 78 x 125-meter translucent membranes that can fully open or close within 12–20 minutes. Combined with a 36-meter-high, 55-meter-wide end-zone glass wall, the design creates a flexible, naturally lit space—a first in Vietnam.

The pitch utilizes hybrid grass technology, similar to Wembley Stadium (UK) and Singapore National Stadium, blending natural and artificial turf for enhanced durability, rapid drainage, and low maintenance. The VIP area offers panoramic balconies, gourmet dining, and private access, catering to elite audiences and international events.

Upon completion, PVF Stadium will meet FIFA standards, qualifying to host major tournaments like the ASIAD, Olympics, or World Cup. With its modern design and internationally compliant facilities, the stadium is poised to elevate Vietnam’s sports infrastructure and establish Hung Yen as a regional sports hub.

Currently, the site is predominantly occupied by ornamental plant nurseries and construction material warehouses.

Local residents report being informed about the project but state that no discussions regarding compensation or support have taken place to date.

Also in Nghia Tru commune, large-scale real estate projects such as Vinhomes Ocean Park 2, 3, and Ecopark Urban Area are underway. The PVF Stadium, with its 60,000-seat capacity, is seen as a vital addition to the sports and services complex, enhancing the development of southeastern Hanoi.

Hung Yen is emerging as a hot spot for investment, with impressive growth. In the first 8 months of 2025, the province recorded 243 new and expanded projects, totaling over $6.3 billion in registered capital—including 144 domestic projects ($4.7 billion) and 99 FDI projects ($1.6 billion). With nearly 3,900 active projects valued at approximately $41 billion, the region’s industrial and urban development along the Red River is thriving.

The PVF “super stadium” is expected to boost local real estate values and stimulate tourism, creating a major sports, cultural, and services hub. This development positions Hung Yen as a new destination within the Capital Region.
