Closing the trading session last night and early this morning on November 21st (Vietnam time), Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange rose by 2% – 2.55%, while Arabica prices on the New York exchange saw a slight increase of less than 1%.
For the reference contract, Robusta for January 2026 delivery increased by $115 per ton, reaching $4,631 per ton; Arabica for December 2025 delivery rose by $40 per ton, hitting $8,960 per ton.
Today’s domestic coffee prices are expected to rebound from the previous level of 113,300 VND/kg before the London session begins.
Vietnam’s coffee supply is under threat due to natural disasters.
In recent sessions, domestic coffee prices have risen less than global prices and fallen more sharply when exchange prices drop. The primary cause is adverse weather conditions, with widespread flooding making harvesting, drying, storage, and transportation challenging.
During the current floods and landslides, some coffee-growing areas in Dak Lak with ripe red beans have been completely submerged, leaving farmers at risk of total loss. Several drying facilities and coffee storage warehouses have also been flooded, significantly impacting production and business activities.
This situation has raised concerns among international traders about potential Robusta supply shortages, driving coffee prices higher.
