Vietnam – India: Exploring New Frontiers of Cooperation
On November 22nd, during the G20 Summit and bilateral activities in South Africa, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Johannesburg. Both leaders acknowledged the robust growth of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India, emphasizing the vast potential for deeper and more substantive cooperation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that both nations enhance market access, explore bilateral trade agreements, and encourage high-quality investments from major Indian corporations, particularly in infrastructure, green energy, and logistics. Vietnam also seeks to establish joint research groups in science and technology, leveraging India’s strengths.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi supported these initiatives and agreed to promote high-level exchanges and market openness amidst complex global trade dynamics. Both sides committed to strengthening coordination in multilateral mechanisms and international organizations, contributing to regional peace and stability.
Vietnam – South Korea: Strengthening Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation
In Johannesburg, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also met with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive outcomes of high-level agreements since the elevation of Vietnam-South Korea relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed greetings from Vietnamese senior leaders and thanked South Korea for the warm reception during state visits and APEC 2025 participation. President Lee Jae Myung affirmed that South Korea views Vietnam as a key partner in its foreign policy and expressed deep sympathy for Vietnam’s recent typhoon-related damages.
Both sides agreed to enhance political trust, expand defense and security cooperation, and elevate economic, trade, and investment ties, with science, technology, and innovation as new pillars. President Lee Jae Myung highlighted South Korea’s labor cooperation programs and its readiness to share experiences with Vietnam in preparing for APEC 2027.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended an invitation from Vietnamese senior leaders for President Lee Jae Myung to visit Vietnam at a convenient time, which the President gladly accepted.
Vietnam – UAE: Expanding Financial, Investment, and Halal Industry Cooperation
During a meeting with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, both sides reviewed the positive developments in Vietnam-UAE relations since the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership and the signing of the CEPA agreement.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended invitations from Vietnamese senior leaders to the UAE’s monarch and leaders to visit Vietnam, underscoring the UAE’s global role in trade and finance. Vietnam proposed co-organizing the UAE-Vietnam Investment Conference in April 2026 to advance cooperation in trade, investment, defense, food security, and the Halal industry.
The Prime Minister also sought UAE’s support in developing international financial centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang and urged the acceleration of FTA negotiations between Vietnam and the GCC.
The Crown Prince welcomed these proposals, affirming that the UAE considers Vietnam a vital partner in Southeast Asia. The UAE will dispatch investment and financial delegations to Vietnam to advance specific projects. Both sides also discussed sports cooperation, with the UAE expressing interest in supporting Vietnamese youth football development.
Additionally, they agreed to coordinate efforts in international forums, including the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip in accordance with international law.
