Notably, the UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab, donated by CT Group to Can Tho University on Vietnam Teachers’ Day, November 20th, also marked the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Technology (now the Polytechnic University, Can Tho University). This coincided with the 7th ASEAN+3 Rectors’ Meeting held at Can Tho University from November 19th to 20th.

The 7th ASEAN+3 Rectors’ Meeting at Can Tho University brought together over 120 university presidents and leaders from ASEAN and partner countries such as China, South Korea, and Japan. This high-level academic forum significantly influences the region, fostering an open diplomatic space to address shared challenges in ASEAN amidst globalization and digital transformation.

During this event, over 120 university presidents and leaders from ASEAN institutions visited the UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab, located in the Research Laboratory Complex (RLC) of Can Tho University, showing keen interest in its capabilities.

The UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab quickly captured the attention of the academic and tech communities. As a pioneer in Vietnam’s education system, this dedicated research facility for UAVs and agricultural robots marks a significant leap in integrating advanced technology into education and research.

Both current and former faculty members of Can Tho University expressed joy and emotion. For them, having a professional, modern, and hands-on lab with advanced equipment was once a distant dream, only imaginable through models or literature.

Dr. Duong Thai Cong, former Rector of the Polytechnic University (Can Tho University), who laid the foundation for the university’s high-tech education, shared his emotions: “The research and learning space I’ve longed for is now a reality at Can Tho University. On behalf of the university, I extend my deepest gratitude to CT Group.”

Prof. Tran Trung Tinh, Rector of Can Tho University, proudly highlighted the UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab and its collaborative research programs on his social media.

“The UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab is not just a meaningful Teachers’ Day gift but also a significant step forward. It provides educators with a cutting-edge space for hands-on teaching, bringing students closer to the latest technology,” said Dr. Nguyen Van Cuong, Rector of the Polytechnic University, Can Tho University.

The UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab stands out for its unique and meaningful approach, featuring technology products researched and developed by Vietnamese experts, rather than theoretical models or imported technology displays seen in traditional labs.

The lab’s launch fulfills the commitment made by CT Group and Can Tho University during the scientific seminar “National Digital Twin – Technological Breakthrough for Smart Agriculture in the Mekong Delta,” held in September. In the next phase, CT UAV (a member of CT Group) will continue investing in agricultural robots to integrate with UAVs on the National Digital Twin 15 (NDT 15) platform, invented by CT Group.
