On November 22, the An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism reported that in the first 10 months of 2025, the province’s tourism sector attracted nearly 24 million visitors, a 27% increase compared to the same period last year, surpassing the annual plan by 14.7%. International visitors accounted for approximately 1.9 million (with Phu Quoc alone welcoming over 1.2 million), marking a 90% rise year-on-year and exceeding the annual target by 55%.
Alongside the surge in visitor numbers, the province’s tourism revenue also reached its target early, significantly outperforming expectations. Specifically, total revenue hit approximately VND 67,684 billion, a 91% increase year-on-year and 72% above the annual plan.
Notably, Phu Quoc experienced a record influx of tourists in the final months of the year, with 4-5 star hotels and high-end shophouses nearly fully booked.

With this momentum, experts predict Phu Quoc is entering a new growth phase akin to Bali (Indonesia) or Phuket (Thailand) in their prime.
Mr. Bui Quoc Thai, Director of An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism, highlighted that recent years have seen strategic investments in tourism infrastructure, effectively leveraging spiritual, ecological, and island tourism. “Destinations like Sam Mountain, Tra Su Cajuput Forest, Ha Tien, Hon Son, Nam Du, and especially Phu Quoc, continue to captivate visitors,” he stated.
“The province’s tourism sector is sustaining growth in the final months while refining sustainable and professional development strategies, positioning itself to capitalize on the shift of international tourists to the Southwest region,” Mr. Thai added.
