Vietravel Joint Stock Tourism Company (stock code: VTR) has issued a resolution to divest its entire stake in Vietravel Airlines Joint Stock Company (Vietravel Airlines) before December 31, 2025.
Vietravel Airlines currently has a charter capital of VND 2,250 billion (equivalent to 225 million common shares). Vietravel holds 18.4 million common shares, representing an 8.2% stake.
The transaction value is less than 10% of Vietravel’s total assets based on the Q3/2025 financial report. As of Q3/2025, the company’s total assets exceeded VND 3,130 billion.
According to Vietravel’s shareholder list, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Tien is the largest shareholder, holding 12 million shares (20.94% ownership).
After Vietravel’s divestment, Vietravel Airlines’ shareholders will include Vietravel Group, T&T Airlines, T&T SuperPort, BVIM Fund, and other individual investors.
This move follows Vietravel’s earlier divestment from Vietravel Airlines, which it founded. In late 2024, Vietravel transferred a significant stake to T&T Group.
At the 2025 Annual General Meeting, Mr. Do Vinh Quang was appointed Chairman of Vietravel Airlines. The board representatives were from T&T Group, led by Mr. Do Quang Hien.
The AGM approved a capital increase to VND 2,600 billion, expected to complete in H1/2026.
In early October, Malaysian low-cost carrier AirAsia negotiated to acquire a stake in Vietravel Airlines. CEO Tony Fernandes has long shown interest in Vietnam’s growing middle class, price-sensitive consumption, and increasing air travel demand. With projected 6-7% annual growth until 2030, Vietnam is a Southeast Asian aviation hotspot.
