Proposed location of the Hon Tau Wind Power Plant in Gia Lai

According to the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province, the project has been approved in principle under Decision No. 4467/QD-UBND dated November 3, 2025.

The plant has a designed capacity of 750 MW, with an expected annual electricity output of approximately 2.8 billion kWh. The total investment capital exceeds 48,372 billion VND, including compensation, support, and resettlement costs of over 33.18 billion VND.

The project will be implemented on an area of 49.62 hectares, comprising over 32 hectares of water surface (sea area) and 17.61 hectares of land, all of which are allocated for use with a limited duration.

The project aims to provide clean electricity from renewable energy sources to the national power grid, contributing to energy security and meeting the electricity demands for socio-economic development in Gia Lai Province. It also seeks to reduce energy losses in the transmission system.

Local authorities anticipate that once operational, the Hon Tau Wind Power Plant will significantly contribute to the provincial budget, create job opportunities for locals, and drive socio-economic growth.

The project is also expected to enhance industrial production value, supporting Gia Lai Province in achieving its goal of double-digit economic growth in the coming years.
