The Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang City has recently updated the progress of two key projects: the Lien Chieau Port (shared infrastructure) and the coastal road connecting Lien Chieau Port.

The construction of the Lien Chieau Port has reached 95% completion. Specifically, the breakwater and seawall are 96.64% complete; dredging of the shipping lane and water area is 99.9% done; and the road and drainage system are 80.17% finished.

The Lien Chieau Port project is located in the northwest of Da Nang City, in Hai Van Ward.

Over the past period, the project has been continuously affected by heavy rains and strong waves, causing landslides and siltation of the access road, directly impacting the breakwater, transportation, and technical infrastructure. However, the management board and the joint contractors are mobilizing maximum equipment, materials, and manpower to complete the entire project before the Lunar New Year of Bính Ngọ 2026.

For the coastal road connecting Lien Chieau Port (with a total investment of over 1,203 billion VND), the construction progress has reached 82.30%. Most components have surpassed the 90% mark. Specifically, the overpass at the starting intersection is 93.4% complete; the overpass at the ending intersection is 94.7% complete; and the Lien Chieau Bridge is 95.9% complete.

Other components have also achieved over 90% progress, with the road component currently at 58%. This 3km road connects Lien Chieau Port to the North-South Expressway.

Previously, during an on-site inspection, Da Nang Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang urged relevant units to expedite the progress, striving to complete both projects before the Lunar New Year 2026, ensuring synchronized infrastructure to support the development of the northwestern area of the city.

The Lien Chieau Port project is planned, invested, and constructed in Hai Van Ward, Da Nang City, with a total area of 450 hectares. The project consists of two components. Component A, the shared infrastructure, has an investment of over 3,400 billion VND, funded by the central and city budgets, and began construction in late 2022.

Component B is calling for private investment, including 8 container berths (total berthing length of 2,750 meters for ships from 50,000 to 200,000 DWT), 6 general cargo berths (total berthing length of 1,550 meters for ships from 50,000 to 100,000 DWT), a berth for river-sea vessels, and port backend facilities. The estimated investment cost is approximately 48,304 billion VND.
