Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation and Vice Chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs Association (Term VII), delivers a speech at the National Congress.
The VII term (2022-2025) concluded with significant milestones, solidifying the growing influence of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association within the business community and the nation’s economic development. For Term VIII, the Association aims to expand its membership to 35,000–50,000 individuals. Alongside this, member businesses target contributing 15% to the national GDP and creating employment for 8 million workers. The Association is also spearheading a program to train 10,000 CEOs between 2025 and 2030.
The new term focuses on supporting 50,000 business households to transition into formal enterprises, providing professional consulting to 10,000 businesses, ensuring 80% of member businesses adopt digital technology, and engaging 1,000 businesses in the AI for SMEs program. Additionally, the Association aims to foster a culture of sharing through the initiative “Every young entrepreneur mentors two new entrepreneurs.” These efforts underscore the Association’s commitment to being an active and responsible member of the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Asia-Pacific Young Entrepreneurs Association.
During the solemn session of the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa emphasized that to compete globally, young entrepreneurs must address critical challenges, particularly investing in science, technology, and innovation. This aligns with the strategic directives of Resolution 57 and Resolution 68, which aim to propel Vietnam out of the middle-income trap and into the ranks of knowledge- and technology-driven economies. The era of quick transactions is over; instead, we must invest more in specialized, high-value products.
“Drawing from FPT Corporation’s international experience and interactions with global enterprises, we believe Vietnamese businesses can compete on a global scale by leveraging science and technology,” stated Mr. Khoa.
The FPT CEO also outlined three new breakthroughs on behalf of young entrepreneurs:
First, a breakthrough in human resources, recognizing them as the nation’s greatest asset.
Second, advancements in science, technology, and data. Young entrepreneurs must master working with machinery and collaborating with AI to harness new competitive energy sources and operate data-driven businesses.
Third, innovation in business models and ecosystems. Fostering collaboration and interconnected ecosystems is essential to drive growth across sectors.
“In an era where speed defines a nation’s strength, inaction risks falling behind. However, by embracing science, technology, and digital transformation, Vietnam can ascend to leadership in the new era. Vietnam’s young entrepreneurs are ready to take on this pivotal responsibility,” concluded the Vice Chairman of Term VII.
With approximately 21,000 members across 34 provinces, 2 economic groups, and 16 affiliated clubs, the Association remains one of the largest business associations in the country. Its member businesses generate over $40 billion in annual revenue, contribute more than 10% to the national GDP, and employ over 5 million workers.
