A food poisoning incident was detected between November 7 and November 13, with 316 cases reported after consuming bread from the business owned by Nguyễn Ngọc Bích Vân, located at 112A Nguyễn Thái Sơn, Hạnh Thông Ward. The bread, known locally as “bánh mì cóc cô Bích,” was identified as the source of the outbreak.
Based on epidemiological investigations, data analysis, laboratory test results, and expert opinions from the Ho Chi Minh City Public Health Institute, the Department of Health, and relevant hospitals, the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department concluded that the food poisoning was caused by Salmonella bacteria present in the bread.
